Die noch im letzten Jahr vorbereitete Schaltstange ist dank einer Teilespende (Schaltbock und Schaltstangenkupplung) von Sebastian Loll zum Einbau bereit... und passte beinahe auf Anhieb. 23cm kuerzer als original, ist sie nun in das Projekt integriert und nahm ohne jede Probleme ihren Dienst auf. Sogar die Oeffnung fuer den Schaltbock sieht aus wie gewollt; auch der Schalthebelsack des Porsche passt schmatzend in die Stulpe er 64er Schaltstange - oder war es umgekehrt?... Sieht jedenfalls irgendwie schick aus. Und funktioniert. Gut.

Finally...we're moving on
The shift rod we already prepared last year is now ready to be built in, thanks to a parts donation (gear lever housing and shift rod coupling) of Sebastian Loll: It nearly fitted straight away too. At 23cm shorter than the original part it is now integrated into the project and started working without any problems. The opening for the gear lever housing looks like it was intended this way too; the gear stick bag of the Porsche fits bang on into the cuff of the 64s gear stick - or was it the other way round? - Anyway, it looks chic. And works. Good.
Dann waren da noch die Raeder... unglaublich, dass diese Gummibedampfung ueberhaupt zu ueberzeugen war, auf die Alus zu passen... aber: Die Montage gelang auf Anhieb – obwohl es zwischenzeitlich so aussah, als muessten die Pneus reissen :-). Jedenfalls: Kein Montageschaden. Perfekt gewuchtet. Auch gut. Danke an Uli von Auto-Service Nord in Dortmund fuer die Bereitstellung der Maschinen!
Then there were the wheels...unbelievable, that this thin rubber coat could be convinced to fit onto the rims...but: The fitting worked straight away - even though it looked like the tires were about to burst a couple of times. Anyhow: No damage during fitting. Perfectly balanced. All is good. A big thank you to Uli of Auto-Service Nord in Dortmund for letting us use his machines!!
