Day 24: Disassembling the engine, paintwork preparation part I
Today not much happened in the holy halls of Luftwerks. The schedule was: tidying up, brooming, dissecting the engine. Brilliant: we rediscovered the whererabouts of the piston head puzzle pieces...Not so brilliant: On their way into the oilbasin the fragments destroyed the camshaft. Anyway, plenty of time to whine about that later...we'll just have to get on with it for now. Tomorrow we'll clean everything properly and then have a good look at it. Maybe not everything is lost yet....
At the opposite end of the city Matthias and his colleague Christian Struckmeyer have managed to get a lot done already: The first coats of fiberglass putty (just for the biggest craters, it has to be done fast) have been applied and are already sanded down. Should they carry on at that speed, he'll be done faster than we will be with the engine...oh well, that's fine with us.
